There are a two or three ways of listing appearances of individual characters/places/organizations in use on the Wiki. When the list of appearances is very long, it gets it own individual page, like so: Frank Hardy (Original Continuity)/Appearances.
The other two appear interchangable however, certainly when there's only one appearance to show. There's this method from the Ripley Lansing article:
- Ripley Lansing appears in Undercover Brothers #22 Deprivation House and Undercover Brothers #23 House Arrest
which is produced by typing:
:''Ripley Lansing appears in [[Undercover Brothers]] #22 ''[[Deprivation House]]'' and [[Undercover Brothers]] #23 ''[[House Arrest]]''
Then there's option of having a section header for appearances, like this from the Mr. Pizza article:
Appearances
This list is incomplete, you can help The Hardy Boys Wiki by expanding it. |
- 1. Dead on Target
- 37. Danger Zone
- 41. Highway Robbery
Which is produced by typing:
==Appearances== {{incomplete list}} '''[[The Hardy Boys]] [[Casefiles]]''' :1. ''[[Dead on Target]] :37. ''[[Danger Zone]]' :41. ''[[Highway Robbery]]''
So, do we need to standardise?
If so, I'm in favour of the separate appearances section. It might look a little odd on pages with only one appearance, but they could be worded slightly differently, perhaps:
Appearances
by typing:
==Appearances== :[[The Hardy Boys (Original series)|The Hardy Boys]] #1 - ''[[The Tower Treasure]]''
Any opinions?

I've been thinking about this too, and I like your last suggestion. I'm ready to go ahead with it.
Appearances
Or maybe:
This looks good but the down side is that we would have to drop the numbers. I like your idea it was just a thought.

We wouldn't necessarily have to lose numbers to use bullet points.
or:
Don't look so bad.

As you can see in my recent articles I've been going with your suggestion. Example: Dark Eagle

Yes, I think that looks good.
What do you think for multiple appearances? I'm in favour of:
Even though you have to type <nowiki>#</nowiki> just to get a '#' at the start of a line!

Or we could just do this:
- The Hardy Boys #1 The Tower Treasure
- The Hardy Boys #12 Footprints Under the Window
I think using the <nowiki> tags would make things to complicated.

I like it. I've implemented it on the Oscar Smuff page as an example.
