I've been thinking of this for a little while now and I think it would be a good idea to ditch the "Gallery", "Quotes", and "Appearances" subpages, and have three new namespaces in there place. The reason I would like to do this (other then the fact that I think they're a bit gimmicky) is because in the current subpage format, galleries, and quote pages, and appearances, are counted as articles. This messes up the total article count, since some of the "articles" are actually image galleries, appearance list, and quote pages.
In place of the subpages we would have three new namespaces, Gallery, Quotes, and Appearances. So for example Boardwalk Bust/Gallery would be Gallery:Boardwalk Bust, No Mercy/Quotes would be Gallery:No Mercy, and Frank Hardy (Original)/Appearances would be Appearances:Frank Hardy (Original)
If you are for the idea i will request them from Wikia.

But aren't galleries, quotes, etc. articles in their own right? Some wikia don't even use subpages for this, e.g. tardis:Susan Foreman - Quotes, tardis:Susan Foreman - List of Appearances
This help page explains a bit more about namespaces for others: w:c:help:Help:Namespace.
I think namespaces should be reserved for the moment and the subpages kept.

Well, I don't really think of a gallery of images as an article but maybe that's just me. We'll have to see what others say.
