Plot summary

Mr. Hardy asks Frank and Joe to help his old friend, Professor Rowbotham, in England. His witch museum has been burglarized. When they arrive in East Anglia, they witness the bizarre funeral of an old witchmaster; but this is only the first in a series of strange events. They are followed, trapped, attacked by a large black dog, and cursed by a crone. Following the trail of Lord Craighead, who has disappeared under strange circumstances, they head to Ireland and the Isle of Man. A storm on the Irish Sea shipwrecks them, and a white witch gives them the clue they need to find the torture chamber of a black witches' coven. After a final struggle, they survive the encounter and recover the telltale Witchmaster's Key to solve the case.
